Trunk Show happened!

Yes, this weekend the DIY Trunk Show happened once again in the Broadway Armory in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. 130+ vendors selling loads and loads of crafts, along with food, music and beers! That's a fun time.

This year was the first time that the Trunk Show was managed by Rebeca Mojica, owner of the nearby business Blue Buddha Boutique and longtime Trunk Show vendor. She ended up doing a smashing job, making the load-in for vendors easy, making sure the volunteers were well-managed, and even getting a coat check set up for shoppers. There were so many "why didn't we think of that?" moments when I was at the show, so I think she did a bang-up job.

Hopefully there will be another Trunk Show next year, but it remains to be seen. In the meantime, Chicago is not hurting for craft fairs; there's at least a half dozen shows coming up through the weeks before Christmas, so you'll be able to get plenty of handmade crafts in time for the holidays!

My photos from the Trunk Show are up on Flickr now.
