The Forbidden Room!

This weekend I saw the new Guy Maddin film The Forbidden Room at Chicago's historic Music Box Theater. Wow, what a crazy trip! If you've seen Guy Maddin films before, you kind of know what to expect, but this is far beyond anything that Maddin has done before. Scenes and film styles bleed into one another, the stories envelop each other like Inception on steroids, and the garish colors and film stocks blend into each other and pulse like Ivan Albright's portrait of Dorian Gray. In short, it's highly recommended, so seek it out.
