What's happening?
Well, the roadshow version of Tarantino's The Hateful Eight is playing in Chicago, and if you have a chance to see it, you KNOW you have to. We attended a screening at Chicago's historic Music Box Theatre, and the place was packed (99.9% white guys, as my companions noted). Make sure you pick up a souvenir program when you attend, because those will be worth something on eBay someday, maybe.
Burning Bluebeard is finishing up a holiday run at Chicago's Den Theatre, and if you haven't seen it yet you really should. This is the latest in a series of holiday mountings for the show, and it's still a killer holiday treat. Details and tickets at the theater's site.
The Dogwood Photography 52 week photography challenge is happening this year, and I'll be attempting each challenge as it comes up. Keep an eye on my Flickr site, as stuff will most likely be posted there.
More finished projects! My New Year's resolution for 2016 is to finish more items that I've had on the back burner, so look forward to new stuff being posted here. In fact, I already finished one of my longest-running projects just a few weeks ago: an audio collage using an NPR interview that I heard way back in 2000!
This track is called "Too To", and is 22 seconds long (two-two, get it?). I've had this idea in my mind for years, and I've occasionally checked the site of the radio program on which I heard the original quote, hoping that some day they would post the audio of the program that I originally heard. Well, this past month I checked the site again, and lo and behold, there was the audio! I banged out the track in minutes, and it sounds pretty much how I wanted it to sound. So few projects end up exactly as you initially conceive them, so that's a minor miracle to start the year out on a good note -- er, sample.
