"A Cowboy for Jesus"
Aunt Bertha Presents Singtime with Tiny Tot Calvin

Let us now praise one of the most honored Bad Music categories, the young child singing Christian songs. Here's a stellar example, presented by Aunt Bertha, about whom very little is known. She had a number of albums featuring singing children, and very little is known about their origins. Was Berta a Sunday school teacher showing off her star pupils on vinyl? Was she a Fagin-like character who whipped her children into submission, keeping them in filth-covered pens in the darkest recesses of an abandoned church? Did she take the children on the road, forcing them to perform for hours at a time at carnivals in the sweltering heat? We can only speculate.

Anyway, here's a fine example of Bertha's brood, taken from a compilation put together by the editors of the long-gone Cool & Strange Music magazine. Sing, Tiny Tot Calvin! Sing for your supper! Sing for Jesus! Sing, that you may live to see another day under the crushing authority of Aunt Bertha!
