05:37 AM :: Busy weekend of the gods.

Friday night: First Friday at Old Town School. Amy was doing yet another performance there, so I went on over with the camera. There's a video, which may or may not be posted online after we review it for obscenities.

Saturday: Amy's big birthday party! House full of guests, table full of food. Amy got the whole thing catered by Cafe Too, a place that helps homeless and poor people get training in the food service industry. Dessert was obtained from the always amazing Bleeding Heart Bakery. Everybody ate a lot of food, and there was still plenty left afterwards.

Late Saturday night, my dad showed up after being delayed about 12 hours due to a big load of snow. He's just staying over this weekend and heading out Monday morning, so we just offered to put him up for a couple of nights.

Sunday was the REALLY busy day. In the morning, a brunch party featuring Amy's sister & bro-in-law, Amy's niece, and my dad. In the afternoon, a walk around Rogers Park with my dad (who is apparently into geocaching these days), and a trip downtown to see Millennium Park and the new modern art wing of the Art Institute (both obviously well worth your time, of course). Back to home, a quick dinner of leftovers from the party, and then off to see the Sunday night edition of Too Much Light at the Neo-Futurarium. Dad gives all of these attractions a big thumbs up.

And that's why I was so busy this weekend.
