04:59 PM :: Tasted.
The 2009 Taste of Chicago is winding down this weekend, and I ended up not seeing as much stuff at the event as I wanted to. Garrett Popcorn, a great local institution, had a booth for the first time this year, and they were offering flash-frozen popcorn on a stick, which sounds weird yet cool at the same time. Unfortunately I didn't get to sample this, as I ran out of tickets before I got there.
I also did not get a chance to sample my personal favorite dish, the Original Rainbow Cone. But as I previously mentioned there will be a new location for Rainbow Cone opening up next month in the Loop, so I'm not too bummed about missing out on that.
So my Taste experience this year was pretty much the Robinson's Ribs tent. Which is fine by me, because I love their BBQ sauce. Great stuff. So that's my annual treat.
