In the spaces where I haven't been posting here, one of the main things I've been working on (and worrying about) is the condo that Amy & I are working on purchasing. Amy's mentioned it a couple of times over at her site, and today we took a step towards owning the place: the official inspection.

Mister Inspector Guy took about two hours to go through the place, checking all the switches, lights, appliances, doors, floors, radiators, etc., to make sure the place wasn't going to fall apart spectacularly once we signed the closing papers. It went reasonably well, although he did point out quite a few things that I hadn't noticed before. Like, for example, the huge crack in the front door that looks like someone kicked the door in. Well, we will just have to sort that out before we move in. Our realtor has already started thinking about where we can buy a replacement door to match the apartment.

So in about a week and a half we get to hand over a big chunk of cash, the lawyers will do their thing, and then we close. And then we move. And then we have the housewarming party. And then we rest.
